Takis Mercouris, Founder and Chief Operating Officer. Excited about the revolution taking place with the iPhone, Takis co-founded Pharos Technology Partners to to focus on iPhone and capital markets technologies. Based in Chicago, early in his career he alternated between technology and trading firms, eventually won over by the opportunities to apply technology in trading. Takis developed many of the distributed system components for the O'Connor and Associates implementation of Sun Microsystems. As a member of technology firms such as Sun Microsystems and Next Computer he helped many of the trading firms in Chicago such as O'Connor and Associates and First Chicago develop applications. He later founded Vanguard Software that helped Fortune 500 firms to develop NextStep mission critical applications. With the acquisition of Vanguard Software by Swissbank, Takis continued his career at Swissbank and later UBS rising to Executive Director responsible for global interest rates derivatives risk technology platform. While at UBS, Takis chaired the FpML products committee that developed that specification for FRAs and interest rates swaps.
